John Michaels is a veteran of Valley broadcasting, having started his career in Phoenix in 1981 at country giant KNIX. There he remained until 1997, after hosting all shows in all time-periods, including the morning drive show. He also hosted the TV show, “Steppin’ Out, Today’s Country Videos” (1991 – 1995) on local NBC affiliate KPNX Channel 12.
In addition to his broadcast credits, which include airborne traffic and his current position as News Director at KOOL-FM. John’s voice has been heard on countless commercials on radio and TV in the local and regional markets. On the national scene John was picked to guest host “American Country Countdown”. These days John continues his quest for what he calls his “dream job”, to voice an animated character. You can hear John Michaels when you tune into The KOOL Morning Crew with Tom Peake and Maria Knight weekday mornings from 5a-9a.
